Influenza in Neonatal Populations

On today’s episode, we will be talking about the influenza virus in neonatal populations.

Dr. Jennifer Bermick is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in Neonatology at the University of Iowa. She runs a basic science laboratory that focuses on understanding how the neonatal immune system develops under normal and inflammatory conditions. This includes the study of fetal and neonatal immune responses during chorioamnionitis and neonatal sepsis, with the goal of identifying therapies that can mitigate the morbidities and mortality associated with these conditions.

Dr. Kevin Legge is a Pathology Endowed Professor of Pulmonary Immunology Research, Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Pathology, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Director, Department of Pathology Research Flow Cytometry Facility, Director, Interdisciplinary Program in Immunology at the University of Iowa, and Associate Director at the Nanovaccine Institute.
